Ryan Cashman from aescripts.com “Although After Effects CS5.5 comes bundled with a stereoscopic camera, it uses collapse transformations to create the left and right channels. For plug-ins that utilize composition cameras separate left and right channels are required to see the true stereoscopic depth.”

Ben Rollason from aescripts.com “3D Extruder is a script that makes light work of creating high-quality 3D extrusions in After Effects, using the time-honored method of stacking 2.5D layers (all automatically of course). The benefit of this is your 3D extrusions are part of your real After Effects 3D space so they interact properly with other 3D layers.”

Jorrit Schulte from ae.tutsplus.com posted Rotoscoping Depth Mattes With CameraTracker last month on AEtuts: “In this tutorial, we’re going to look at creating a 3D depth matte from Real footage. We’ll matchmove the footage with The Foundry’s plug-in CameraTracker, and create 3D layers that match the Footage to get a “3D model” of the scene. Then you will learn what you can do with this depth matte after you create it; create realistic fog, fake DOF and a rotoscoped matte.”

Rich comment on his blog: “A tutorial video in 2 parts. In part 1, the pop-up and 3D scene is built, then in part 2 trigonometry and more is used for interaction between layers to unfold elements with a minimal number of keyframes. Seems pretty cool and you can adjust the camera animation to taste.”
