Ian Haigh posted a preset for basic bounces called EbbertBounce.ffx, from the original article we can read “There are sliders to adjust amplitude, decay, and frequency. By tweaking these you’ll be able to achieve a variety of effects. I recommend reading Dan’s original post about this expression too. “

It’s just a simple adaptation of the built-in FadeIn+Out-Frames behaviour, but applied to the Stereo Mixer audio effect instead. Apply the preset to to your Audio Layer. Set the number of frames required for fade in and fade out in the first slider effect, and the layer will then automatically fade from 0 to 100% and back again for the defined durations. To further adjust the overall volume, use Level or a second iteration of Stereo mixer.

Other great Rich Young post, he collect several filmstrip tutorials, mostly with different looks, and a free Mac plug-in. Chris Huer freeform filmstrip tutorial in vimeo is a great example of how achieve this type of effect.

Aharon Rabinowitz reveal a really interesting presets “Spy Photo” from his blog we can read: “a new set of FREE presets for Adobe After Effects that makes it easy to create the look of snapshots taken by a spy or private investigator, as seen in film and TV. The presets are dynamic, and require no keyframes. Just marks where you want the effect to happen. After Effects will do the rest.”

From graymachine we can read: “Here is a set of 17 presets that I’ve compiled over the years. I used these often and find them extremely useful. With some of them, they are so old that the code could probably a lot more tidy. But, they work… and they work well. So, I’m not going to mess with it.”
